According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, as many as one in 200 children and adolescents struggle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Zach Hix is a 15-year-old who was diagnosed with OCD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and anxiety, B2C reports. Then, after suffering a strep infection, he was diagnosed with Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections (PANDAS), which is believed to have caused him to develop Tourettes and tics. However, with the help of his mother, Kim, he has created Good Boy Roy, which is a line of t-shirts that are designed by the young entrepreneur.
Zack has lived with neuropsychiatric illnesses his entire life, and drawing allows his creativity to flourish and his mind to be calm, according to the news source. The business happened on a whim, when Zack's mom decided to surprise him by putting one of his characters on a shirt.
The mother and son duo are hoping that they will soon be able to expand the line beyond just t-shirts.
